The Dublin High School Memorial Team within the All-Class Reunion
Committee voted to assist Pulaski County in funding a new picnic shelter
at Randolph Park. The shelter will be named “Dublin High School Alumni
Shelter,” and will accommodate approximately 75 people. The
shelter will display two memorial plaques: one for our departed
classmates and the other to honor our teachers and school staff. It
will be conveniently located near existing restrooms and the playground.
Your contributions to this project have been very generous indeed, and
we have received dedicated donations of about $14,300 as of the date of
this printing, and still climbing. Recognizing the enormously broad
support that everyone has given to this project, the Reunion Committee
voted to not individually recognize donors. However, we have now
realized that
some of you may wish to donate in memory of a specific person, and so we
have similarly voted to recognize those memorialized in such a way, by
name. If you have already donated, but wish to have your donation
listed as a memorial to a classmate, teacher, family member, or friend,
please contact Rose Marie Tickle so we may properly show that memorial
on our website.
As we conclude the financing of the All-Class Reunion, we expect to be
able to add to the dedicated donations amount a major portion of any
residual funds that may remain from
Reunion proceeds. Together with a Lowe’s Home Improvement Store
contribution of a 50% discount on building materials, we should
ultimately cover a majority of the cost of this much-needed shelter.
The project shows our strong community support and provides continued
visibility for Dublin
High School alumni. As a result of this major level of participation in
the project, Dublin High
School graduates will be privileged to a two-week jump on the normal
reservation scheduling
period to reserve any of the Randolph Park shelters for a Dublin High
School reunion. Randolph
Park normally accepts reservations beginning October 1st for the
following spring and summer. However, Dublin High School Reunions for
example may be scheduled for the following spring
and summer during the last two weeks of September. Your support is much
appreciated by the Reunion Committee, and it also represents a great
benefit to the citizens of Pulaski County.
