Dublin Alumni Memorial Gift
Check for $15,000 presented to Ranny Akers,
Pulaski County Board of Supervisors and Anthony Akers, Park Director by
Cecil King, Memorial Shelter Committee Chairman, during the program a
the reunion on Saturday, August 18th.

Update on donations:
as of October 16 the total is $16,631.00.
Ground breaking scheduled for Spring of 2008.
Donations are
still being accepted for the Memorial Shelter Project. A giant replica
ceremonial check for $15,000 was presented during the program on Reunion
Day, but we have already exceeded that amount by nearly $2000 in
dedicated donations, and hope to raise still more. Remember that you
can donate “in memory of” an individual and have that designated
individual memorialized on the website… although in keeping with our
agreed practice, the donor will not be named. If you would still like
to make a donation, please send your tax deductible donation to:

The Dublin High School Memorial Committee voted to assist
Pulaski County in funding a new
picnic shelter at Randolph
Park. The shelter will be named “Dublin High School Alumni Shelter.” It will
accommodate approximately 75 people. The shelter will display two memorial
plaques: one for our deceased classmates and the other to honor our teachers and
school staff. It will be conveniently located next to the restrooms and
playground.
Donations are requested, to the extent of your ability and desire to make them,
and they will be gratefully accepted as a part of the registration process, or
afterward, with a separate and entirely optional donation line as part of
registration. Funds donated in this way will be earmarked for the project.
We
are not consciously allocating any segment of the event ticket costs for this
project—although we will re-assess our ability to supplement the amounts donated
by individuals with residual funds that may remain from the proceeds
of this
All-Class Reunion after it is held.
Your generous support of our All-Class Project will be very much appreciated,
not only by your Reunion Committee but also by the citizens of Pulaski County.
Monetary contributions from Dublin High School alumni and
Lowe’s Home Improvement
Store’s contribution of a 50% discount on building materials
should cover a
great deal of the cost.
The project will show community support and provide
visibility for Dublin High School alumni. Additionally, as a result of
participation in the project, Dublin High School graduates will be privileged to
a two week jump on the normal reservation scheduling period to reserve any of
the Randolph Park shelters for a Dublin High School reunion. Randolph Park
normally accepts reservations beginning October 1st for the following spring and
summer. However, Dublin High School Reunions may be scheduled during the last
two weeks of September for the following spring and summer.
The Memorial Committee hopes that you will see this as a worthy project and that
all who can will contribute toward the cost of the Dublin High School Alumni
Shelter.
